1. SMS MT Tests
What is a SMS MT test?
A SMS MT (Mobile Terminated) Test is the only way to monitor the quality of your SMS services in a reliable way. REMOTE365 offers you SMS end to end testing with real SIM cards and real hardware in a growing amount of countries. You just have to send a SMS via your platform to one of our MSISDNs and REMOTE365 provides you with all relevant information of the received messages. Do you want to check runtime, special character support, alpha numeric sender support and much more? It was never easier!
How do I request an SMS MT test?
Select SMS MT Test site from the user menu on the left site of the screen. Either select a country and an operator or directly enter the NWC of the destination you want to test. If you select "Send email notification" results of the test will be send to your configured email address. Click the link 'REQUEST TEST ID' after you made your selection. A confirmation will appear at the top of the site.
What shall I do after requesting a Test ID?
REMOTE365 generates a unique Test ID. This Test ID and a destination MSISDN will be shown at the table on the bottom of the SMS MT Test site. The Test ID is only valid for 8 days and in combination with the corresponding MSISDN.
To perform a test with REMOTE365 the SMS MT sent by you must contain the Test ID. SMS MT can not be assigned if the Test ID is not included or truncated within the SMS.
For text SMS the Test ID must be inserted as the first part of the body e.g.: "12345Hello World".
For 8 bit binary SMS the Test-ID must be encoded within the binary SMS e.g. (IA5): "313233343548656C6C6F20576F6C7264"
For Unicode SMS (16 bit) the Test ID must be encoded within the 16 bit SMS e.g. (IA5): "0031003200330034003500480065006C006C006F00200057006F006C00720064".

Which countries and networks can I test with REMOTE365?
All available countries and networks can be found on the REMOTE365 status page.
Missing a country? We are always looking for reliable hosting partners for our testing probes to extend our coverage. We are offering multiple benefits such as free tests for our hosting partners! Get in contact with our sales at messaging@linkmobility.de if you are interested.
Why can I only see the details of the first SMS, when I send multiple SMS with the same Test ID to the same MSISDN?
A Test ID can only be used once. Additional SMS with the same Test ID will only increase the 'Count' field. Please request additional Test IDs.
What does 'count' stand for?
For several reason a single SMS MT may be delivered several times to the destination by the originating SMSC. Within 8 days since the request of the test, the parameter 'count' will be increased when a SMS MT containing the same Test-ID is received. REMOTE365 only shows the information of the first SMS MT received.
Why does it sometimes take some time till I receive my Test ID?
We only allow a certain amount of tests to a destination MSISDN per minute to ensure a higher testing reliability, because some operators delay or even drop SMS when the line is too busy. Due to this we might delay your Test ID a bit.
You can help us minimising the delays by hosting a REMOTE365 probe by your own, so we can load balance tests better.
Why am I forwarded to the Top-Up site after clicking the 'REQUEST TEST ID' link?
You are forwarded to the Top-Up site when your current account balance is not sufficient to request a test. Please charge your account.
Which charset is used within REMOTE365?
The website and all emails are based on UTF-8 charset. If you experience wrong or missing characters please make sure your browser and/or email application supports UTF-8 encoding.
